More blog posts about web maps

Here’s another blog post I wrote about web mapping, this time about writing an API with Scala and GeoTrellis: “How to Build a Geoprocessing App with GeoTrellis and React”

The post walks through setting up a small web application which allows users to draw an area of interest within Pennyslvania’s boundaries, the query an NLCD raster layer to get cell counts for different land use types in the shape.

The code for the project is stored in a GitHub repository and you can theoretically set up and run everything with two Make commands, assuming you’ve got everything else installed.
