Kelly Innes dot com    About

I’m a software developer in Philadelphia. I currently work at Betterment, where I primarily write Ruby on Rails. Previously I worked at Azavea, where I helped build geospatial web applications in things like React, Scala, Python, and C#.

I have a PhD in English Literature from Penn State. After completing it I spent a few years working as a post-doc at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, teaching courses on topics like Virginia Woolf’s novels and nonfiction, lit theory and psychoanalysis, British modernist and post-modernist fiction, and narratology. My favorite books are ones like Let Us Now Praise Famous Men, The Waves, Gravity and Grace, and If on a winter’s night a traveler. (I’ve cataloged the books I’ve read over the last 5+ years here.)
